Project Place has a long history of volunteerism, receiving tremendous community support throughout the years. Our volunteers both give and receive a valuable gift–a gift of hope and a belief in our fellow human beings. Today, we utilize volunteers in the following ways:

Tutors: Provide one-on-one tutoring in math, reading, and writing to our Adult Education students.

Computer Lab Support: Help instruct and monitor student progress in our computer lab. Students learn Word, Excel, and how to successfully negotiate the Internet.

Group Projects: Teams of volunteers offer their help with short-term projects such as painting.

Events: Support our fundraising efforts by joining an event committee, donating in-kind needs (e.g., food, facilities, silent auction items), or helping out on the day of an event. See our Events page for more information.

Donations:

At Project Place we believe in second chances. We know people are capable of extraordinary life changes when they work hard and believe in themselves. But no one can do it alone.

Project Place depends on the generosity of individuals, businesses, corporations and foundations to support its quality services. Your financial contribution has a direct impact on the lives of our clients, helping to eradicate homelessness one person at a time.

Here are a number of ways you can make your giving count:

Matching Gifts: Many companies will match your donation to a charitable organization. Check with your company’s Corporate Giving or Community Relations Department.

Memorial Gifts: Honor the memory of someone special who has passed away. We will send a sympathy card acknowledging your donation to the family or individual you designate.

United Way Corporate Campaigns: If your place of business participates in an annual United Way Campaign, you can designate Project Place as the direct recipient of your contribution. Use Designation Code #M988988 or simply write in Project Place on the “Specific Requests” section of your United Way pledge forms.

Milestone Gift: Is someone you know having a special birthday or anniversary? Pay tribute to your friends and family with a donation to Project Place. We will send a card acknowledging this invaluable gift from you.
